Gladeye sat in the bullpen, waiting to hear from the bondsman, because he knew Tan would at least come get their son. All of his bank and credit cards were in his pants pocket; there was no way he would be able to access the money he had. He knew he had almost a quarter of a million dollars in his joint account that he shared with Tan. Every time the door opened, he thought he would see the bondsman, and when he did see the bondsman he was coming to talk to someone else. Finally, the bondsman came in to see him.

“Mr. Davis, I spoke with your wife and she says she’s not coming to get you.” The bondsman said sadly.

“She what?” Gladeye puffed, “Well, is she coming to get my son?” He asked.

“I don’t know, didn’t say,” the bondsman advised Gladeye to plead not guilty when he went up before the judge. “This will buy you a little time,” he said.

“Man, I’m not trying to stay in here. I have a company to run.” Gladeye spat.

The bondsman assured him that he understood. He gave Gladeye a business card and told him to call him collect if his situation changes. Gladeye was disgusted, because he knew he wouldn’t be able to see the judge until Monday. When it was time to get classified into the jail, Gladeye was sent to an outside hospital for emergency surgery to his genital area; from the damage Tan had caused. When he returned, they assigned him to the jail infirmary.
